Soft Tennis C’ship concludes at KC Sports Club

JAMMU, Jan 12: The District Soft Tennis Championship, organized by J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India concluded with award distribution among the winners of the tournaments held at Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts.
The sportspersons of senior, junior and sub junior categories participated in these events held from January 4 to 11.
In junior girls category, Antekshika won the gold while Sidhani Singh clinched the silver medal and Shreemai Bhat got the bronze medal, whereas in junior boys category, Samnyu Cyrish clinched the gold medal while Arnav Vaid bagged silver and Rishabh Koul got bronze medal.
In sub junior boys category, Shulin Koul won gold medal while Madhavendra Singh clinched silver and Hardeep Singh bagged bronze medal.
In junior mixed doubles, Arnav Vaid and Antekshika shared gold medal and Samnyu Cyrish and Sidhani Singh shared silver medal while Soham Bhat and Shreemai Bhat shared bronze medal.
P D Nitya (IPS), SP North Jammu was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, distributed medals among the winners. She highly appreciated the outstanding performance exhibited by the young players during the finals with an optimism that these uniquely talented players will shine at the national and international level tourneys.
“Discipline, devotion and commitment are the hallmark of a true sportsperson which can take them towards the highest echelons of sports world”, she added. She expressed hope that these players will perform their best at the State and National championships expected to be conducted soon thus bringing laurels to the whole sports fraternity.
RD Thakur, Academic Director KCPS and Sanjeev Sharma, Manager KCSC were the guests of honour while Arjun Choudhary, Director KCSC was special guest on the closing ceremony.
