Excelsior Sports Correspondent AKHNOOR, June 27: Host Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor drubbed Dandarwan Tigers by a big margin of 50 runs to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at Higher Secondary School ground, here today. Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Singh Club scored a modest total of 130 runs in 16.4 overs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 28 runs, which included 2 fours and 2 sixes, while Sunny Kumar contributed power-packed 22 runs off just 9 balls with 5 boundaries. Surinder Singh also chipped in 22-ball 19 runs. Anshuman was pick of the bowlers for Dandarwan Tigers, who captured 4 wickets, while Zorawar Singh bagged 2. Sahil and Surinder Singh claimed one wicket each. Dandarwan Tigers, in reply bundled out for a paltry total of 80 runs, thus lost the match by 50 runs. Surinder Singh (24) and Zorawar Singh (15) were the main scorers. For Singh Club, Gurdeep Singh scalped 3 wickets, while Sunny Kumar picked 2. Rohit, Deepak and Anil also claimed one wicket each. Rohit of Singh Club was declared as man of the match for his brisk knock of 28 runs and one important wicket.
