JAMMU, Oct 14: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Jammu Sports by 8 wickets and won the series by 3-0, played at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
Jammu Sports won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, they scored 120 by losing 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs, wherein Sunil Kumar made 36 runs, while Pawan Sharma and Mukesh Sharma scored 25 & 16 runs respectively and Koushal Sharma contributed 17 runs.
From the bowling side, Sham Singh Langeh and Rakesh Dada shared 2 wickets each, while Sonu Malhota got 1 wicket.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor chased the target convincingly by losing only 2 wickets and registered 8 wickets win over their opponents in 13.3 overs. Jimmy Mani made 78 runs off 54 balls, while Chandan Sharma scored 23 runs in 18 balls. From the bowling side, Love and Bawa shared 1 wicket each.
Jimmy Mani was declared as man of the match as well as best batsman of the series for his outstanding performance in the today’s match and in the entire tournament. Sham Singh Langeh was adjudged as best bowler of the series.
Vinod Kumar and Rakesh Sharma were the umpires, while Rohit Singh acted as scorer.
The three match series (Dussehra Cup) was organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor in collaboration with Jammu Sports under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor).
