JAMMU, Oct 4: Singh Cricket Club (Singh CC) defeated Bawa Talab by 53 runs in final match of Akhoor Premier League and lifted the title trophy played at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, here today.
Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, Singh CC Akhnoor scored 165 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sumit Rajput was the top scorer with 42 runs while Manik Sharma and Sunil Bendy contributed 14 and 32 runs respectively. Jerry took 4 wickets, Ajju got 2 wickets and Bhannu bagged1 wicket for Bawa Talab.
In reply, Bawa Talab bundled out at 112 runs by losing all wickets. Harbans made 29 runs and Rohit scored 37 runs. For Singh CC, Sham Singh Langeh got wickets while Binny Kesar, Sumit Sharma and Jadvinder Singh clinched 2 wickets each and Sunil Bendy bagged 1 wicket.
Sham Singh Langeh was declared as Man of Match. The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Dayal Singh as umpires while Sushil Gupta and Raman Sharma acted as scorers.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal, general secretary of Press Club Jammu was the chief guest while Ravi Singh Parihar (SHO Akhnoor) was the guest of honour.
Shubam Verma (Treasurer DJCA), Shilpa Mahajan (Councillor Ward No 5), Deepak Manni (Councillor Ward No10) and Rakesh Malhotra (Councillor Ward No 6) were the special guest.
