JAMMU, July 14: Registering a thrilling win by one wicket over Champions Cricket Club, Singh Cricket Club Bawa Talab lifted the title trophy of the ongoing 5th Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament, which concluded at MHAC School ground Nagbani, here today.
Earlier, Champions Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Champions Cricket Club scored a fighting total of 135 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Akhil top scored with 33 runs, while Raman contributed 26 runs to the total. For Singh Cricket Club, Lovely and Shanu took 3 wickets each, while Anil and Abbu claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club Bawa Talab chased the target in an exciting contest by losing 9 wickets to win the match by 1 wicket. Abhu top scored with 43 runs, while Lovely contributed valuable 35 runs to the total. From Champions Cricket Club, Raghu was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets, while Shubham claimed 2 wickets. For his all-round show, Abbu was declared as the man of the match, while Lovely was adjudged as the man of the Tournament. Akhil was declared as the batsman and Bhanu Gupta as the best fielder.
The match was officiated by Subash Sharma and Ajay Bharti as the umpires, while Karamvir Singh Chib was the scorer.
Sweepn Puri, Principal MHAC School Nagbani was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams, while Karan Singh, BJP State Vice-President and Pavitar Singh Salathia, President JPPF were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Avinash Bhatia, PRS Salathia, OP Sharma, Resham Singh, Rajinder Gupta and Rajesh Thakur, Komal Choudhary.
Rahul Dev Singh Salathia, Chairman and Sponsor Maharaja Hari Singh Cricket Club, was also present on the occasion.
