AKHNOOR, Dec 6: Defeating Vijayanta Cricket Club by a convincing margin of 75 runs, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor sailed into semifinals of the 7th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Batting first, Singh Club scored a huge total of 211 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Sunny Mahi was the top scorer with 89 runs, while Puneet contributed 53 runs to the total. Ashu and Govil also chipped in with 25 and 24 runs respectively. For Vijayanta Club, Mallu took 3 wickets, while Amit and Deepak claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Vijayanta Club scored 136 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets to lose the match by 75 runs. Mallu top scored with 30 runs, Sonu contributed 24 runs to the total. For Singh CC, Puneet took 3 wickets, while Sham Singh Langeh and Chander Kiran bagged 2 wickets each. Raman Dutta and Sunny Mahi claimed one wicket each. Sunny Mahi and Puneet were adjudged winners of man of the match award.
