JAMMU, Oct 5: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor trounced Jammu Sports by 115 runs in Dussehra Cup’s 3-matches series, being played at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, Singh CC scored 189/8 in 22 overs, wherein Vikas Virdhi scored 72 runs off 29 balls with the help of 8 sixes, while Jimmy Mani and Rahul Mani made 32 and 20 runs respectively and Chandan Sharma and Sonu Malhotra contributed 16 and 15 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Harshit got 3 wickets, while Ashu, Koushal Sharma, Rajesh Bandhral, Jagdev Singh and Pawan Sharma shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Sports bundled out at 74 in 17.5 overs, in which Ashu Singh and Koushal Sharma made 12 and18 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Sonu Malhotra and Kuljeet Singh shared 2 wickets each, Sham Singh Langeh got 4 wickets and Vikas Virdhi bagged 1 wicket.
Vikas Virdhi was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance, while Vansh Smotra and Smile Chib performed as umpires and Yuvraj Radha acted as scorer.
The 3-matches series (Dussehra Cup) is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor in collaboration with Jammu Sports under the overall supervision of Kr Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor).
