6th Christmas T20 Cricket Championship

JAMMU, Dec 14: Simula Cricket Club and Road Safety Department registered wins in their respective matches and sailed into the semis of the ongoing 6th Christmas T20 Cricket Championship, being organized under the banner of Christian Sports Organization Jammu, Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu, Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu and supported by Diocese of Jammu at being played at parade ground, here today.
In today’s matches, Senior Cricketer Desh Rattan and RK Bhat SSP were the special guests who interacted with the players and conveyed their best wishes.
In the first match, Simula Cricket Club defeated Lakshmi Cricket team by 27 runs.
Batting first, Simula Cricket Club scored 125 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Puneet made 42 runs, Atul scored 21 runs and Satish chipped in 20 runs.
From the bowling side, Harman took 2 wickets while Sameer and Sant took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Lakshmi Cricket Club failed to chase the target and managed to score 98 runs by losing all wickets in 14.3 overs thus lost the match by 27 runs. Pardeep Bali scored 32 runs, while Vicky made 28 runs and Harman chipped 15 runs.
From bowling side, Raman Dutta took 3 wickets, Thapa and Vicram scalped 2 wickets each while Ritik took 1 wicket.
Puneet was declared as Man of the Match.
In another match, Road and Safety Department registered win over Shehanshah Cricket Club by 36 runs.
Batting first, Road and Safety Department scored 149 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Ishtiaq made 80 runs, while Jaleel scored 33 runs and Irshad chipped in 21 runs.
From the bowling side, Nitin took 2 wickets while Jimmy and Ambroose scalped 1 wicket each.
In reply, Shehanshah Club could not chase the target and managed to score 113 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs match. Tuffy scored 40 runs, while Arif made 27 runs and Nilin scored 12 runs.
From the bowling side, Majid took 2 wickets while RK Bhat, Danish, Jaleel and Balwan took 1 wicket each.
Ishtiaq was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Ashok, Sanju and Vijay.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Road and Safety Department will take on Simula Cricket Club, while KC Sports Club will lock horns with Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, informed Rajesh Gill, Organizing Secretary of the Championship.
