Shzar & Ritvik lifts Mixed Doubles title; Anant emerge winner in Sub Junior Boy’s Single

JAMMU, May 12: Shzar and Ritvik outclassed Dr Chandpreet and Vishal Ghai by 3-1 frames and lifted the Mixed Doubles title in the 1st Stag Jammu Open Table Tennis Championship, which concluded here today.
In the first frame, Shzar and Ritvik emerged winner by 13-11, but Dr Chandpreet and Vishal Ghai equalized the game by winning the second frame by 14-12.
In the third and decider frame, Shzar and Ritvik smashed Dr Chandpreet and Vishal Ghai by 11-9 in a keenly contest game and claimed the title trophy.
Meanwhile, Anant Rohmetra smashed Hanumant by 3-2 frames and claimed the title trophy of Sub Junior Boy’s Single.
In the first frame, Anant registered win over Hanumant by 11-7, but lost the second frame by 11-9.
In the third set, Anant again bounced back and pocketed the frame by 11-8, which Hanumant equalized by winning the fourth set by 11-6.
In the decider set, both the players sweated well but at last Anant Rohmetra smashed Hanumant by 11-7 and lifted the title trophy.
Vishal Ghai crushed Manandeep and lifted the Men’s Singles title.
In the first frame, Vishal Ghai registered win over Manandeep by 11-09 and also pocked the second frame by 11-09.
In the third frame, Manandeep emerged winner by 11-8 and equalized the game by winning the fourth frame by 11-9.
In the fifth and decider frame, Vishal Ghai smashed Manandeep by 11-7 and claimed the trophy.
On the valedictory function, Arjuna awardee Kirpali Singh Patel was the chief guest, who awarded the winners.
The mementos were also presented to the guest of honour Sanjay Wahi, Ramesh Magotra, Jatinder Kaur, Renuka Thussu, Manmeet Kaur, Sanjeev Bhandari, Inder Pal Singh, Maninder Singh and Satbir Singh, ex World Junior Champion.
The matches were officiated by Varinder Khajuria and Meenu Rajesh.
