JAMMU, July 9: Thinking of producing quality stuff with dismal facilities at hand, is simply to flog a dead horse, rather is like red-ragging a bull.
This was stated by former Test Cricketer, Irfan Pathan on the sidelines of a Selection Camp and Prize Distribution Function, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College, Hostel ground,  here today.
While advocating for the development of more and more turf wickets in the State, former ace all-rounder of the Country advised the budding cricketers to shun matting cricket and play on turf wickets for better future.
“Playing on matting surfaces is a different ball game altogether. Budding cricketers should take it as a negative training. The real test of a cricketer is to perform on a turf wicket, because all forms of cricket world-over, not to talk of the country only, all being played on the turf tracks. I wish, the State Government and the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, take initiatives with regard to development of more and more turf wickets throughout the State. I get a feeling that the Administrators of JKCA, CEO and the Committee Members have already started work on the development of turf wickets at various places in the State, “ Irfan said.
