JAMMU, Feb 9: Shubam Khajuria slammed a power-packed century and Shail Sharma, apart from scoring brisk 74 runs, took 4 important wickets to help Kingfisher Cricket Club thrash Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor by 65 runs to enter the finals of the ongoing 3rd Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School Satwari ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Kingfisher Club, rode on a brilliant century by Shubam Khajuria and an equally good knock of 74 runs by all-rounder Sahil Sharma and scored a mammoth total of 231 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Shubam smashed 105 runs off just 54 balls, studded with 14 boundaries and 4 massive sixes, while Sahil contributed 74 off 36 balls with the help of 7 fours and 6 sixes. Romi contributed 13-ball 29 runs with one boundary and 4 sixes. For SCC Akhnoor, Sonu and Roshi shared 3 wickets each.
In reply, SCC Akhnoor, managed to score 166 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by 65 runs. Sumit top scored with 54 runs, studded with 4 fours and 4 sixes, while Rahul contributed 44 runs with the help of 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. Sunil chipped in with 18 runs to the total. For Kingfisher Club, Sahil Sharma was pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 40 runs in his 4 overs, while Rohit and Kuldeep claimed one wicket each. For his brilliant all-round show, Sahil Sharma was declared man of the match.
Sardar Gursagar Singh, Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) leader was the chief guest during valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the players on the occasion.
