JAMMU, Dec 9: Talented opening batsman Shubam Khajuria, who was struggling for form so far in the season, today slammed a swashbuckling century to take Jammu and Kashmir to a comfort zone in the ongoing Cooch Behar Under-19 Cricket Tournament at Sunshine Ground Cuttack in Odisha.
Shubam scored 120 runs off 188 balls, studded with 13 boundaries and six powerful sixes. He along with another opener Ahmed Banday (86) sent the rival bowlers on a leather-hunt. Banday hit 13 fours and 3 sixes in his knock. At stumps on day-2 today, skipper Sidharth Magotra was at the crease with unbeaten 78 runs, while giving him company was Paras Sharma on 8 runs. Magotra struck 13 boundaries in his knock so far, while Paras has one boundary to his name. For Odisha, Hari Shankar, Arya Shree and Raj Krishan claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 250/8, Odisha managed to score 276 runs in their first innings. Rohit Sharma took 4 wickets, while Omar and Aquib Nazir took 2 wickets each.
