JAMMU, Feb 1: In a proud moment for the Union Territory, Shreemai Bhat and Soham Bhat, children of Verinder Bhat, Law Officer (JKPSC) and grandchildren of Justice (Retd) Brij Lal Bhat, have been selected to represent India at the prestigious Junior Asian Soft Tennis Championship 2026, to be held in Jassowal, Ludhiana.
Shreemai Bhat, a student of KC Public School, is among the most accomplished young athletes of the UT. She has won four national medals and recently secured two gold medals at the ASMITA North Zone League for women, defeating strong teams from across the country. She also represented India at the Junior World Amateur Soft Tennis Championship in Jingshan, China, in 2024.
Soham Bhat, a state gold medalist and two-time national medalist, has also represented India at the 2024 Junior World Amateur Soft Tennis Championship in China.
