Shivam Baloria of BSF bags under 12 boys gold

JAMMU, Dec 26: Shivam Baloria of BSF bagged the gold in boys Under 12 years (20kg), while Pranjal Sharma of RCC received silver and Aditya Choudhary (BSF) and Kanshit Chanyal (SN) got bronze medals in first J&K Open Judo Cup Championship held at MA Stadium, Jammu which concluded yesterday.
The event held under the aegis of J&K Judo Association was organized by senior Judokas wherein the closing ceremony was attended by H K Lohia IPS Director SSG who was the chief guest and Special guest of honour Divya Tiwari Olympian (Judo Coach NIS Patiala).
In 35 Kg category Sareesh Mangotra of Shangrilla got gold, Kanav Sharma (RCC) bagged silver and Mohd Irfan of Kathua and Sahil Kumar (RCC) received bronze medals, while Kabra Altaf of Srinagar is the best Judoka.
In 25kg category Saket Sharma (RCC) received gold, while Om Billoria (BSF) got silver and Harish Mehra (RCC) and Sourav Sobel had to be contended with bronze medals.
In 40 kg category, Shivan Sharma (SOS) clinched gold, Divakar Singh (RCC) got silver, while Abhyer Singh (RCC) and Shabir Sharma (SN) won bronze medals respectively.
In 40 kg boys open, Rakesh Kumar (SOS) won gold, Aryan Gupta (RCC) got silver and Anirudh Sharma (BSF) and Varun (RCC) clinched bronze medals respectively.
In girls Under 12 (25 kg) category Palak Sharma (BSF) received gold, Kanishka (RCC) got silver, while Nirali (RCC) and Minakshi (BSF) won bronze medals.
In boys Under 14(40kg) category Pardep Singh (SOS) received gold, Sumit Kumar (DPS) received silver and Hirtik Sharma (Shangrilla) clinched bronze medals.
In 40 kg category Sakshi Sharma (SMS) received gold, Ashvina Bhat (BSF) silver while Bhawna Hans (BSF) and Suhasi Kiran (RCC) received bronze medals.
In boys (50kg) Faisal Iqbal (SGR) got gold, Shubam Manhas (SOS) received silver, while Udav Gupta and Vishal Gupta(JKPS) clinched bronze medals.
In girls Under 14 (open) category, Suhasi Kiran (RCC) got gold, Sanjana Manhas (SOS) silver and Vishali Choudhary got bronze medals.
In senior boys (55kg) Virbadhra Singh (RCC) clinched gold, Avinash Sharma (RCC) silver and Sahil Dogra (Kathua) clinched bronze medals.
In boys (66kg) Aman Gupta (RCC) received gold, Fazil (Srinagar) silver and Rajesh Sumbriya (RCC) clinched bronze medals.
In 81 kg category, Danish Sharma (RCC) got gold, Amjad Mir (Srinagar) clinched silver while Anirudh Sharma (RCC) got bronze medals respectively.
In senior deaf boys (55kg) Nayaz Ali (RCC) got gold, Raj Kumar (RCC) silver and Sunil Sharma (RCC) and Nabel (RCC) won bronze medals.
In senior girls (open) Kabra Altaf (Srinagar) received gold, Malvika Kapoor silver and bronze medal won by Poonam Sharma.
In open Wt deaf boys, Vivek Singh (RCC) gold, Abishek Gupta (RCC) received silver and Chetan and Shubam Kumar (RCC) got bronze medals respectively.
In open Wt Deaf girls, Rakshinda (RCC) got gold, Nidhi (RCC) silver, while Shivali Sharma (RCC)  and Nidhi Sharma (RCC) clinched bronze medals.
The event ceremony was also attended by Madan Lal Sharma, Deputy Director Youth Service and Sports and Vikas Gupta, general secretary, J&K Judo Association, Banu Pratap, organizing president and Rameshwar Singh, organization secretary.
