Shireen selected as global shaper for World Economic Forum

JAMMU, June 2: Shireen Kalra has been selected as a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, joining an international network of young leaders working on social, economic and sustainability challenges through youth-led, community-driven initiatives.
The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum that brings together exceptional young individuals under 30 to develop local solutions to global challenges and promote civic engagement and leadership.
Shireen Kalra is an alumna of St Mary’s Presentation Convent School, Jammu (Batch 2020) and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ashoka University. She currently serves as a Partnerships Manager at the Youth Futures Foundation, the United Kingdom Government’s national What Works Centre for Youth Employment, where she focuses on improving employment opportunities for young people from marginalised backgrounds.
She has previously contributed to the United Nations Academic Impact Millennium Fellowship and the University of Oxford’s Global Leadership Programme, supporting youth leadership, civic participation and pathways to economic opportunity. She also holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Policy from the University of Oxford, specialising in graduate transitions into meaningful work.
Kalra has represented youth development initiatives at global platforms including the United Nations General Assembly, the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and UN Youth 2030 in New York.
At the Oxford Hub, she will contribute to projects focused on sustainable development and AI readiness for youth, with emphasis on future skills, technological adaptation and youth participation in shaping emerging work ecosystems.
