JAMMU, Apr 5: Superb bowling display by Varun, Aman and Amit Sharma and magnificent half-century by Avesh Sharma helped Shastri Cricket Club to drub Dev Cricket Club in the semifinals to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing 1st SP Smart T20 Cup Cricket Tournament, being organized by chief organizer Vikas Raina and his team at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, Dev Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first to score a modest total of 98 runs in 17.3 overs. Raju Singh and Sunil contributed 23 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Varun was the pick of the bowlers for Shastri Cricket Club, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Aman and Amit Sharma claimed 3 wickets each.
In reply, Shastri Club chased the target in 12 overs. Avesh played a brilliant innings of 52 runs, while Varun contributed 24 runs to the total. For Dev Cricket Club, Raju Singh took 2 wickets. Varun was declared as man of the match for his all -round display. He was presented SBI Circh Tara man of the match worth Rs 3,000.
The match was officiated by Madan, Ashok Singh and Sheeru.
