Shastri CC, New Challenger register wins in KCSC Cup

JAMMU, Jan 25: Shastri Cricket Club and New Challenger Cricket Club defeated their rivals to advance in the ongoing KC Sports Club T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at KC School ground, today.
In the first match Shastri Cricket Club defeated Krishna Cricket Club by 42 runs. Shastri CC won the toss and elected to bat first and put up a score of 144 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Deepak and Arvind made 50 and 29 runs respectively. For Krishna Club, Vicky took 2 wickets.
Krishna Cricket Club, in reply, bundled out for 102 runs in 16.4 overs, thus lost the match by 42 runs. Happy and Shanga contributed 47 and 28 runs respectively. Varun took 4 wickets, while Sahil and Vicky Raina shared 2 wickets each for Shastri Cricket Club. Varun of Shastri Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
The second match was played between New Challenger Cricket Club and Singh Cricket Club. New Challenger Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first. NCCC made 150 runs in 18 overs. Gourav, Sandeep Singh and Bansi Lal contributed 53, 28 and 23 runs respectively.  For Singh CC, Sham Singh Langeh took 2 wickets, while Kewal claimed 1 wicket.
While chasing the target, Singh Cricket Club managed to score 140 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 10 runs. Sunny ,Vinay and Dilawar made 35, 27 and 23 runs respectively. For Challenger Club, Sahil, Soumay Jain and Manjeet took 2 wickets each. Gourav of New Challenger Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
