POONCH, Dec 11: First Sham Lal Memorial Girls Hockey tournament, organised by Sham Lal Hockey Academy in collaboration with Hockey Poonch and District unit of Sports Council under the aegis of Hockey J&K, concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
The final match was played between Power House Hockey Club and Sham Lal Hockey Academy Poonch wherein Power House Hockey Club won the match by 3-1 goals. Meenakshi scored two goals in 5th and 15th minutes of the game while Ishta netted goal in 25th minute of the game. For Sham Lal Hockey Academy, Sita scored one goal in 22nd minute of the game.
SSP Poonch, Ramesh Kumar Angral was the chief guest and remembered the contribution of late Sham Lal Sharma for promoting Hockey especially for girls in district Poonch and at State level.
He appreciated the coaching staff of the Academy for organising such tournament and motivating girls to participate in games and sports. DySP DAR Sachin Gupta, Farhad Siddque (KAS) and Nirdoah Kumar, I/C Manager Sports Stadium Poonch were presented as guests of honour.
Sarla Shrama and Hargeet Kour (PEMs), Ravinder Singh and Rajinder Singh Toofan (veteran Hockey players) Pevaiz Malik Afridi, chairman EHSAAS Foundation, Matinder Pal Singh, Ranveet Singh and Navjot Singh (all Hockey coaches) and Ram Prakash Ground in-charge were also graced the function.
The chief guest distributed trophies and prizes among players while Pawan Kumar and Mukesh Kumar presented vote of thanks.
The match was officiated by technical panel comprising of Navjot, Agrim and Kavleen, whereas the match technically supervised by Pawan Kumar, Mukesh Kumar and Navjot Singh.
