DODA, May 29: Mushtaq Wani’s 3 wickets and Hinan’s 30 runs helped Shahid Cricket Club Ghat of Group (B) to sail into the semifinals of the ongoing 9th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, Shahid Cricket Club Ghat defeated Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club (APCC) by eight wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club set a target of 74 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Shiva remained top scorer with 30 runs while Pramod contributed 13 runs to the total. From Shahid Cricket Club Ghat, Mushtaq Wani was the most successful bowler with three wickets while Zahid takes two wickets.
In reply, Shahid Cricket Club Ghat attained the goal making the winning run on the first delivery of the 12th over for the loss of two wickets. Hinan was the highest scorer who scored 30 runs followed by Waqar who contributed 24 runs for the team. From Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club, Mahesh and Subramanyam shared one wicket each. Mushtaq Wani of Shahid Cricket Club Ghat was declared as man of the match for his superb bowling performance.
The match was officiated by BCCI Ranji trophy umpires Sanjay Singh and Dharmesh Bhardwaj while Rinku Badoria acted as the scorer.
