POONCH, Sept 5: Outplaying Sudan Club and Knights Club in Kabaddi and Volleyball summit clashes respectively, Shaheed Liaqat Ali Club lifted the title trophies in Rural Sports Mela which concluded at OP Hill Stadium, Mendhar here today.
The closing ceremony was witnessed by senior Army Officers including Brig RP Singh, Commander 6 Sector Rashtriya Rifles.
Earlier, in Kabaddi finals, Shaheed Liaqat Club defeated Sudan Club in an easy contest by 28 points (41-13), while in Volleyball summit clash, Shaheed Liaqat Club defeated Khights Club Salwah by three sets to two (3-2) to win the title.
The Mela was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in association with Sarpanch Association of Mendhar.
Chief guest Brig RP Singh, Commander 6 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up team on the valedictory function.
