Wathoora Big Bash Cricket Tourney

Budgam, Oct 11: Wathoora Big Bash Cricket Tournament culminated today as the Shafi-XI lifted the Wathoora Big Bash Cricket trophy after beating the Mudit City Hunks by 14 runs in the final match.
The match was played at Shah Qalandar Cricket Ground, Wathoora here.
The tournament was organised by RPCC Wathoora in which 32 teams participated. Shafi XI Parigam Pulwama batted first and scored 181 runs in 20 overs.
Khursheed was the top scorer who made 57 runs. Mudit City Hunks which had some professional cricketers in the team were all out at 168 runs.
Many respected citizens of the area watched the final match.
Chairman RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar, Dr Javid Ahmad of Panzan and Haji Ghulam Rasool presented awards to the winning players.
Dr Raja Muzaffar urged upon the organizers and eminent citizens of the area to start a cricket academy in the area so that the younger generation is taught professional cricket.
He hailed RPCC organizers Riyaz Peer and Lateef Dar for working towards youth empowerment through sports activities particularly organizing cricket tournaments.
Locals urged the Govt to construct a footbridge on the Doodh Ganga River as participants and cricketers face difficulty in reaching the cricket ground which is bereft of direct access with the mainland.
