SRINAGAR, May 30: SP College, Srinagar today organized Annual College Cycle Race for Boys. The race was flagged off by the Convener Sports Board Prof. Noor Mohammad Malik and Dr. M. F. Mir, Staff Secretary from College Main Gate to Shalimar Crossing at 6:00 a.m. About 30 students of the college participated in the race.
Every participant tried his level best to overtake the others. However Shabir Ahmad Bhan of B.Sc. 3rd Year and Malik Sahbir of B.Sc. 2nd Year were neck to neck for almost 8 Km. Later Shabir Ahmad emerged 1st followed by Malik Shabir and Wahid Aslam of B.Sc. 2nd Year at rank 2nd and 3rd respectively.
At the end of the competition the prize distribution ceremony was held at Nishat Garden Dr M F Mir distributed prizes among the competitors.
Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony Convener Prof Noor Muhammad Malik and Dr M F Mir laid emphasis on the importance of Sports and other co-curricular activities. Musheer-ul-Islam, Physical Director of the College advised the students to participate in the forthcoming Inter College events in various disciplines.
