JAMMU, Oct 12: Semifinals position has been cleared in the ongoing Inter Collegiate Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2018-19, being organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Volleyball Courts, here.
Earlier, in the quarterfinal matches, GDC, Hiranagar beat GDC Bhaderwah by (2-0) sets, GDC Kathua outplayed PG Department by (2-1) sets, GDC Udhampur defeated GDC RS Pura by (2-0) sets and GGM Science College beat GDC Samba by (2-0) sets.
The semifinal matches and final match of the tournament will be played on October 15, 2018.
The matches were officiated by the technical penal of experts including Naresh Kumar, Amit Sharma, Amarjit Singh, Mulkhraj and Manik Nargotra.
The Tournament was conducted under the supervision of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Meanwhile in Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Tournament, GDC Ramban beat GDC RS Pura by 29 points (43-14), PG Department defeated Govt MAM College by 34 points (59-25), GDC Poonch outplayed GDC Rajouri by 4 points (33-29) and GDC Samba drubbed GDC Hiranagar by 1 point (37-36).
The match officials were Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh.
Meanwhile, semifinal matches of Table Tennis Championship were played today at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.
In Women Section, PG Department beat YCET by (3-2) in the first semifinal, while GDC Kathua defeated GCW Udhampur by (3-1).
In Men Section, GCET beat MBS by (3-2) in the first semifianl, while in the second semifinal, GDC, Udhampur beat PG Department by (3-2).
The matches were officiated by Rekha Ratra, Sanjeev Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Ankit Sharma, Gourav Raina and Jeevan Lal under the overall supervision of Ravish Vaid (TT Coach), University of Jammu.
