JAMMU, Nov 13: The second edition of Heritage School MUN Conference concluded on a pulsating note with a glittering closing ceremony. The theme of the HSJMUN 2019 was ‘Unitum Paceum–United For Peace’.
The 3 day event which started with a phenomenal opening ceremony presided by Akash Pradhan, Principal, Heritage School, as the chief guest witnessed a participation of over 300 students.
The sessions’ simulation of UNSCO, UNDP, UNHRC, JKLSM, AIIPM and Lok Sabha saw some heated and spirited debates on matters of international and national consequence.
Ashutosh Bajaj, CEO, Reliance Jio Info Comm Limited, J&K, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He shared his insights on United Nations, its functions and role in maintaining world peace. He also highlighted the importance of MUN as school activity which not only promotes communicative skills but also plays an important role in holistic development of students.
The vibrant cultural programme which witnessed some enthralling dance and music performances added to the day’s festivity.
The ceremony concluded with the prize distribution in which the outstanding delegates were felicitated.
The students adjudged as Best Delegates were UNSC-Vihan Gupta, Karan Jain (Individual Delegate), UNHRC-Mannan (GD Goenka), UNDP-Shivang (GD Goenka), Lok Sabha-Pranav Gupta (Jodhamal Public School), AIIPM-Medhansh (Jodhamal Public School) and JKLSM-Syed Musharraf (Individual Delegate). Abhijot Singh (JP World) and Rashmi Nagpal (Presentation Convent ) were declared as Best Photographer and Best Reporter respectively. The Best Delegation Trophy was bagged by Jodhamal Public School.
Akash Pradhan, Principal, Heritage School, in his address to the august gathering also emphasized the role MUN plays in altering the lives of youth by contributing to their educational and social development as young leaders.
The conference was formally declared closed by Aman Choudhary Secretary General HSJMUN.
