JAMMU, Oct 12: The opening ceremony of School Olympics 2016 being organized by District Administration Jammu in collaboration with Department of Youth Services & Sports will be held at MA Stadium at 3 pm tomorrow.
All the participating schools will attend march past at MA Stadium which will be followed by the two opening matches of Volleyball in the boys and girls categories.
The seven day long sports festival will include Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Badminton, Table Tennis and Athletics as the events. The closing ceremony will be held at BSF Camp, Paloura on October 21.
Around 4100 children from 125 Government and private schools are participating in the School Olympics. The schools as far as from the border areas of Pallanwala, Arnia and Suchetgarh are also participating.
The event will be conducted at six different venues. Around 150 officials of Youth Services and Sports Department will be deployed for conducting the events. The CRPF will be facilitating the opening ceremony at MA Stadium.
