SCC lifts Friendship Cup Trophy, beats MCC by 2 wkts in final

JAMMU, May 27: Sungal Cricket Club (SCC) lifted the Friendship Cup Trophy by defeating Maira Cricket Club (MCC) in the final match, played at Dabra ground, Akhnoor.
After winning the toss, SCC elected to bat first and made a score of 170 at the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 12 overs. Aman Jamwal played some good shots and made 75 runs while Ansh and Sachin also contributed 24 and 23 runs, respectively. For MCC Rahul scalped 3 important wickets while Deepak got 2 and Ajay 1 wicket.
While chasing the target of 171, MCC managed to score only 70 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 12 overs and thus, lost the match to SCC. For SCC, Rishav got 3 wickets whereas Ankit and Ansh scalped 2 wickets each.
Aman Jamwal was declared as Man of the Match as well as Match of the Series for his brilliant all round performance while Ajay was declared as Best Batsman. The trophies to winning team as well as individual best performers were presented by Sham Singh Langeh (Zonal Head, All India Divyang Cricket Control Board of India), who was the chief guest on the occasion. He was flanked by Bhushan Bral (DDC Bhalwal- Brahmna Akhnoor).
About 16 teams participated in the Friendship Cup. In the final match, Roshan Lal and Rohit were umpires while Badal was the scorer.
