JAMMU, Aug 29: Outplaying RS Pura Zone convincingly by 6 wickets in the summit clash, Satwari Zone lifted the title trophy of the District Level Inter-Zonal Under-19 boys Cricket Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Govt HS Satwari ground, here.
As part of Annual Calendar of Activities, the Tournament was held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports and the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Jammu and Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting RS Pura Zone scored a modest total of 85 runs in the stipulated 15 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Jagandeep was the top scorer with 27 runs, Sourabh took 2 wickets, while Pavit Singh Ishar, Vivrant, Rahul and Prashant claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Satwari Zone chased the target in 12.4 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Vivrant was the top scorer with 34 runs. For his all-round performance, Vivrant of Satwari Zone was adjudged man of the match.
The matches were officiated by the panel of experts from the Department of Youth Services including Jagtar Singh, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Suresh Singh, Madan Mohan, Pankaj Sasan, Mohan Farooq and others.
