Satwari to take on Bhalwal in U-14 final, Miran Sahib to lock horns with Akhnoor in U-17

JAMMU, May 25: Players continued to vie for the top honours in the Inter Zone District Level Cricket Tournaments, being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at GHS Jammu Cantt and GHS Kangrail.
Satwari Zone will take on Bhalwal Zone in the final of under-14 boys in Inter Zone District Level Cricket Tournament, while Miran Sahib Zone will clash with Akhnoor Zone in under-17 category at same venue.
Satwari and Miran Sahib Zones qualified for the finals of Inter Zone District Level Cricket Competition for under-14 and 17 boys respectively at GHS Jammu Cantt from Group “A”, while Bhalwal Zone and Akhnoor Zone qualified for the finals from Group B at GHS Kangrail.
In under-17 category at GHS Jammu Cantt, Miran Sahib Zone beat Satwari Zone by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Satwari Zone made 69 runs by losing 8 wickets in 12 overs. Himaal played splendid inning of 44 runs.
From Miran Sahib Zone, Sachin scalped 3 wickets, while Sohail and Rohit took 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Miran Sahib Zone chased the target by losing 5 wickets in 11.5 overs. Sachin made 27 runs, while Rohit contributed with 21 runs.
From Satwari Zone side, Aditya and Keshav bagged 2 wickets each.
In under-14 category at GHS Jammu Cantt, Satwari Zone beat Gandhi Nagar Zone.
In under-14 category at GHS Kangrail, Bhalwal Zone beat Marh Zone by 40 runs.
In under-17 category at GHS Kangrail, Akhnoor Zone beat Chowki Choura by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Chowki Chora zone made 57 runs by losing 8 wickets and in reply, Akhnoor Zone chased the target by losing 4 wickets.
Shubham Gupta clinched 3 wickets and was declared as Man of the Match, while Stifen bagged Man of the Series award.
In under-17 girls final, Bhalwal Zone beat Akhnoor zone by 7 runs.
The matches were officiated by Anju Gupta, Jasbir Singh, Saleem-ul-Rehman, Jagtar, Satika, Farooq, Madan Mohan, Mukesh Sharma, Sadiq Hussain, Anil Sharma, Sunil, Rajesh, Ravinder Singh and Suresh Singh.
