Sat Sharma inaugurates New Year Million Cup

JAMMU, Jan 3: Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) inaugurated ‘New Year Million Cup’ at Country Ground Gharota, here today in order to boost the sports activities amongst the youth across Jammu region.
The three match series is being organized in the memory of late General Bipin Rawat between Jammu Strikers CC and YK Sports Club Thathri. The inaugural match was won by Jammu Strikers CC. BJP Kissan Morcha leader Sunil Dutt (Raka) also accompanied the BJP leader during the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is indeed a great initiative which has been taken by the youngsters of organizing a cricket tournament which will definitely indulge more and more youth with them and it is a positive sign that youth today is progressing towards keeping its mind and body fit by taking part in such activities. He also gave a message to youth to stay away from drugs and enjoy sports and games.
YK Sports Club won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Jammu Strikers CC scored 192 (all out) in 34.3 overs. In reply, YK Sports Club bundled out 146 runs in 32.3 overs. Romit Singh was declared as man of the match who scalped 4 wickets. Bhanu from Jammu Strikers CC scored 83 runs and Vansh Kadyal made 37 runs.
From YKSC, Omar Khan scored 45 runs and Aqib Khan made 25 runs. Omar Khan also took 3 wickets and Aqib Khan and Shaqib got 2 wickets each.
