Samooh Theatre stages Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’

JAMMU, Nov 15: Samooh Theatre staged William Shakesp-eare’s ‘The Tempest’ here today.
The Play was translated and directed by Ravinder Sharma.
The story of the Play was, the Alonso, the king of Naples, is returning from his daughter’s wedding in Tunis. He is accompanied by his son, Ferdinand, his brother, Sebastain, and Antonio, the Duke of Milan. An old Milanese courtier, Gonzalo, is also on board. The ship is wrecked in a storm and all the passengers and crew are thrown into the furious sea.
Prospero, the former Duke of Milan, and his fifteen year-old daughter, Miranda, are watching the shipwreck from an island. He tells her, for the first time, how they came to be on the island.
Pawan Raina, Assistant Director  Ministry of Textile, GOI was the chief guest on the occasion, while Bodh Raj Sharma, State General Secretary Lok Jan Shakti Party was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The actors who performed in the play were  Rohan Sharma as Prospero, Ayushi Bhat as Miranda,  Sakshav Raina as Ferdinan, Sandeep Thakur & Sandeep Manhas as Ariel, Tarun Charak as Caliban, Rohan Singh as Gonzalo, Deepika Jamwal as Francisco, Ishika Raina as Alonso, Kosar Chandpuri  as Sebastian, Mukal Bains as Antonio, Akshit Sethi as Trinculo, Kartavya Singh Jamwal as Stephano,  Ritika Jamwal as Boatswain.
The Writer of  the play is  William Shakespeare. It’s Translation & Direction was done by Ravinder Sharma,  Choreogr-aphy by  Rohit Bains, Lights by Suraj Ganjoo & Pankaj Sharma. Music was operated by Shubam Singh Nag, Sounds by Lokesh Chander. Make up was done by Shammi Dhammir, Costumes & Sets by Ravinder Sharma. Hall Management by Shubam Singh, Pallavi, Chetan, Samdhish, Hempreet, Abhishake, Aashima and Neeraj Sethi.
