Inter-Panchayat Cricket Tournament

SAMBA, Feb 25: Samba XI and Gurha Slathia Cricket Club registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing Inter-Panchayat Block Level Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, here.
The Tournament is being held under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, while District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Kiran Jyoti is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
In the first match of the day, which was a quarterfinal, Samba XI defeated Thandi Khui CC by a big margin of 53 runs. For the winners, Surinder Singh took 4 wickets, while Ajit Singh Charak top scored with 29 runs off 18 balls.
In another match, Gurha Slathia Cricket Club defeated RD Club in a thrilling contest by 1 run. Akhil Singh Slathia was adjudged as the man of the match. He took 3 wickets and contributed 38 runs off 22 balls.
