Samar, Ahaan sail into Hopes under-11 finals

JAMMU, Sept 29: The 45th Jammu District Table Tennis Championships, organised by District Association under the aegis of J&K Table Tennis Association is going on full swing at Indoor Complex MA Stadium, here today.
In the championship, Samar and Ahaan sailed into finals of Hopes under-11 boys category, whereas in the semi-finals Samar defeated Akshar by 3-1 and Ahaan bt Sayam by 3-1 and Nitya Arora trounced Gunjan by 3-0 and Yasha beat Bhavin by the same margin to enter the cadet girls final, besides in cadet boys quarter finals, Ritvik beat Sayam by 3-0, Hiteshwar defeated Ahaan by 3-1, Gourav trounced Satyam by 3-1, and Rudraksh beat Samar by 3-1.
In cadet girls semi-finals, Nitya beat Gunjan by 3-0 and Yasha defeated Bhavin by 3-1, while in Hops boys semi-finals, Samar beat Akshar by 3-1 and Ahaan trounced Sayam by 3-1.
In the veteran men first round, Vasu beat Jamwal by 3-0, Sunil Jain defeated Prof Vaid by 3-1, Jeet Raj defeated Rajinder by 3-0 and Amit trounced Purshotam by 3-0, while junior girls first round matches were underway till the last reports came in.
Satbir Singh, Sanjay Wahi, Rajan Sharma, I.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Saleem Bandey (Secretary Poonch District TT Association), Ashok Singh (Sports Officer Jammu Province), Vikas Gupta, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra and Sanjeev Gupta were among the prominent persons who graced the event.
The tournament is being organized by J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the initiative of ‘My Youth My Pride’.
