JAMMU, July 3: One day Jammu District Deadlift Powerlifting Championship (Men and women) Sub Junior, Junior, Senior and Master Equipped and Un-equipped concluded at Akhnoor, near here.
The Championship was organized by Jammu District Powerlifting Association under the aegis of All J&K State Powerlifting Association and was sponsored by Akhnoor Fitness Club.
Around 120 players drawn from Jammu District took part in the Championship.
Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed the medals among the winners.
Sakshi Koul emerged best lifter in women category by lifting 132.5 kgs, while Nageshwar Singh emerged best lifter in Senior Men category by lifting 245 kgs and Vishal Sudan emerged best lifter in Junior Men category by lifting 170 kgs.
The office bearers of the Association including Ajay Sharma, General Secretary; Rahul Sawhney, Senior Vice President; Gulazar Singh, Vice President; besides members Adil Ashraf Khan, Deepak Joyti, Sumit Gupta, Anshuman Sharma, Joginder Kumar, Sandeep Banmotra were present on the occasion.
The Championship was sponsored by Vishal Sharma, owner of Akhnoor Fitness Club.
