JAMMU, Dec 5: Sainik Colony Club and PDDC (A) outplayed their opponents and advanced to the next round of the ongoing Christmas Soccer Tournament, being organized by Christian Sports Organization in collaboration with J&K Police Department, Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) and J&K Sports Council at GGM Science College Football ground here today.
In the first match of the day, Sainik Colony Club thrashed Young Hero by three goals to zero (3-0) in one side contest.
First goal was scored by Munish of Sainik Colony in the 8th minute of the first half, followed by another goal by Nitin in the 17th minute.
Just after five minutes, enthusiastic Munish netted the goal and brought the opponent team under extreme pressure. In the end of the first half, Sainik Colony was leading with three goals.
In the second half, Young Hero players tried their level best to clinch the match but failed and thus lost the match by three goals to zero (3-0).
In the second match of the day, PDDC (A) stunned Young Rovers in a one-sided affair match by 4-0 goals.
In the first half, Urfan of PDDC (A) scored first goal in 3rd minute and Mukesh netted the goal in the 19th minute.
Third goal was scored by Aji (Demmu) of PDDC (A) in the 34th minute and again bounced back with a goal in the last minute of the first half.
Before going for second half, Young Rovers was facing extreme pressure and were discussing the strategy to clinch the match.
However, their strategy failed, when they could not score even a single goal in the second half and thus lost the match by 4-0 goals.
The matches were officiated by Clint Mattoo, Rinku Gill, Moon Stephan, Saudhar Mattoo, Harmanjeet Singh, Elijah Sotra and Harbans Lal.
On the occasion, VS Sambyal, SSP Jammu, was the chief guest, who was introduced with players of both the teams.
While speaking, SSP impressed upon the youths to take part in sports for the overall development of the body vis-à-vis mentally and physically.
Among others present were Rajesh Gill, president, CSO, David Mattoo, Asif gill, coach Satpaul, Victor Sotra and William Mattoo.
In tomorrow’s Fixture, Churchill Brothers will lock horns with Mussa Club and Vijay Club will take on Jammu United at same venue.
