JAMMU, Dec 10: In order to understand HIV/AIDS and standup against stigma and discrimination faced by the people living with HIV, the NSS volunteers of Sai Shyam College of Education Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu organized a Rally depicting the placards on AIDS and its prevention.
The rally passed through Tikri, Ghou-Manhasan and Lohri Chak villages and the volunteers interacted with the villagers and educated them on the cause and effect of AIDS.
The volunteers were also accompanied by the faculty members of the College.
The Rally culminated in the premises of College where the participants were received by the College Principal.
Speaking on the occasion, College Principal, Usha Tickoo said that the programmes about the awareness of AIDS and allied topics are the need of the hour.
