JAMMU, Oct 9: Sai Shyam College today organized its annual alumni meet in the college premises.
A large number of ex-students of the college participated and joyfully recalled their experiences during the stay in the college.
Commissioner, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, ID Soni, was the chief guest while SK Jain, president Vichar Kranti Manch (I) was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The programme began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Welcoming the dignitaries and alumni, the principal of the college, Dr Usha Tickoo congratulated the alumni of the college for working on prestigious posts in schools and colleges both in Government and Private Sector in different States of India. She also threw light on various academic and developmental works undertaken by the institution.
A colourful programme was presented by the college students on the occasion. The ex-students while expressing their feelings assured their full support in the growth of the college.
In his address, ID Soni expressed his satisfaction on the qualitative growth of the college and congratulated the management of the institution for organizing such programmes for the benefit and growth of the students. He opined that education should not only produce qualified and skilled workers but also valuable human beings.
The annual college magazine “Pragaash” was also released on the occasion by the dignitaries. The chairman of the college, CL Tickoo, presented mementos to the chief guest and guest of honour. Mementos and certificates were also presented to the alumni by the chief guest.
The programme was conducted by Suman Bhagat, a student of the College and Rajni Koul presented the vote of thanks.
