Sai Club sails into QFs, Satisar CC registers 1st win

JAMMU, Nov 22: Scripting convincing eight wickets victory over Sharika Diagnostic Cricket Club, the formidable team of Sai Cricket Club sealed berth in the quarterfinals, while Satisar Cricket Club (Satisar CC) drubbed Tulmul Tigers in a low scoring affair by 28 runs to register its first win in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Premier League, being held under the banner of Iqwaat Sports Organisation, an initiative of Vishva Kashmiri Samaj at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match, winning the toss and batting first, Satisar CC managed to score a modest total of 96 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Ankur Bagati played a sensible innings of 37 runs off 44 balls, while Shivam Koul, Sahil Raina and Anmol Bhan contributed 12, 10 and 9 runs respectively. From Tulmul Tigers, Ronak Razdan and Suraj Koul captured three wickets each.
In reply, Tulmul Tigers scored a paltry total of 68 runs, thus lost the match by 28 runs. Ronak Razdan was the only batsman from Tulmul Tigers to show some resistance, scoring 19 runs, while none of the other batsmen could apply as per the situation. For Satisar CC, Akash Reshi took highest three wickets, but Anmol Bhan was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged two important wickets by conceding just five runs in his 4 overs. Ankur Bagati and Anmol Bhan were declared as the joint winners of the man of the match award.
In another match, Sai Cricket Club got the better of Sharika Diagnostic Cricket Club in an easy contest.
Batting first, Sharika Diagnosis Club scored meagre total of 71 runs in the allotted overs. Anil Bhat top scored with unbeaten 16 runs. For Sai Club, Sahil Raina took three important wickets by conceding 14 runs in his 4 overs, while Surinder Bhat and Virender Thussu claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Sai Club chased the target easily by losing only two wickets. Chander top scored with unbeaten 27 runs, while Sahil Raina contributed 26 runs. Vivek Suri was the only successful bowler from Sharika Diagnostic Cricket Club, who took two wickets by giving away 14 runs in 2.2 overs. For his fabulous all-round display, Sahil Raina was adjudged as the man of the match.
The man of the match awards were presented to the winners by a galaxy of dignitaries including eminent doctor, Dr Rakesh Thussu, senior journalists Anil Bhat and Vivek Suri and vice president Kashyap Sports Club Vinod Koul.
The matches were officiated by BK Tickoo, Sanjay Raina and Vijay Raina, while the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of former chairman JKCA media committee, Rajesh Dhar, Ankur Bagati and Ashish Kachroo.
