SAI Blues lifts Poonch Hockey Tourney title

POONCH, Dec 8: Drubbing Sports Authority of India (SAI) Reds by two goals to nil (2-0) in the summit clash, SAI Blues lifted the title trophy in the Poonch Hockey Tournament, here today.
The tournament was organized by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K, under the guidance of Narinder Batra, president Hockey J&K and Rumal Singh, secretary.
Earlier, Mohd Showkat pelted the first goal in the 9th minute of the match, which was followed by another goal scored by Sanjeev Raina in the 43rd minute of the match to finally win the match by (2-0).
The match was officiated by Narjeet Singh and Mukesh Kumar, while the tournament was held under the overall supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, SAI Hockey coach.
Ajit Kumar Sahu, District Development Commissioner Poonch was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Makhan Lal Sharma, Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch was the guest of honour. President Hockey Poonch, Dr Jeevan Lal was also present on the occasion.
The winners and runners-up teams were presented trophies and mementos by the chief guest and the guest of honour. The winners and runners-up teams of girls hockey final  which was played earlier were also felicitated by the chief guest on the occasion. Stadium XI was the winner in the girls section, while SAI Reds was the runners-up team.
