SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The Additional Director General of Police Armed J&K, SM Sahai while congratulating the champion football team for winning the title in the league, urged the players to work harder in order to improve their performance and team confidence to bring honor to the department and keep its flag high.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jammu and Kashmir Police lifted the Senior Division Football league-2013 by defeating the Accountant General Department team 4-0 in the final match of the league played at Polo Ground Srinagar yesterday. The league was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), in which fourteen teams from across the State participated.

Amidst crowd pressure, J&K Police striker Rohit Kumar managed to score first goal for his side in 25th minute of the game. This was followed by excellent performance from Shabir Ahmad, the leading scorer of the game, who struck twice in 52nd and 60th minute of the game to give his side 3-0 lead. Fourth goal for J&K Police came from Bilal Ahmad in 65th minute of the game. J&K Police XI managed to hold their nerves until the last whistle was blown to emerge as the Champions.
Sahai praised the great standard displayed by the players of the team during the league and urged the players for generating team spirit and a feeling of oneness so that excellence becomes a reality.
