Sagar, Taj inspect city stadia

*Say comprehensive programme undertaken for upgrading sports infra

Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohd Sagar and Minister for Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din while inspecting stadia.

SRINAGAR, Nov 26: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar accompanied by the Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today visited the various stadia in the old City Srinagar and inspected the pace of work being carried out.
The stadia visited include those at Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan, Radapora and Zindashah Masjid.
The Ministers were accompanied by the Secretary Sports Council, Dileep Thusoo, Additional District Development Commissioners Srinagar and senior officers of various departments like R&B, PHE, UEED and Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
The Ministers directed the officers to carry out the filling of the stadium at Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan besides constructing the change room, recreational hall, gymnasium there maintaining that it would go a long way in providing the much needed facilities to the youth and the sports persons.
They also inspected the pace of work being carried out at Naqashband Sahib Stadium at Radapora and directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on the complex coming up there within an estimated cost of Rs 1.48 crore.
At Zindashah stadium Rainawari, the Ministers asked the officers to carry out the turfing of the same at an earliest for the convenience of the youth and the sports persons so that they can effectively carry out various sports activities.
While interacting with the people and the youth, the Ministers maintained that the Government has already undertaken a comprehensive programme for augmentation of the sports infrastructure across the State.
