JAMMU, Mar 7: Safran Cricket Club (Safran CC) trounced Malang CC by 106 runs in the ongoing KC KPL Veteran Cup, being played at KC Sports Club Ground, here today.
Safran CC won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, Safran CC led by skipper Vicky Raina scored 181 runs by losing nine wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Vimarsh Kaw made highest 65 runs off 38 balls, whereas Rakesh Koul scored 60 runs off 44 balls and Vicky Raina and Vikas Saproo contributed 18 runs each. From bowling side, Sanjay, Sunil Dhar and Chander Duggal bagged two wickets each, while Adarsh clinched one wicket.
In reply, Malang CC led by Captain Adarsh bundled out at 75 runs in 15.2 overs and lost the match with 106 runs. Sanjay made highest 30 runs, while Sunil Dhar and Ajay contributed 13 and 10 runs respectively. From bowling side, Surinder was the wrecker in chief who took four wickets, Arun Zalpuri clinched two wickets and Rakesh Koul and Vinod Raina bagged one wicket each.
Rakesh Koul was declared as man of the match.
Ashok Singh, Sanjay Koul and Vijay Raina acted as umpires of the match.
