Sadhotra inaugurates 3rd Parmodh Memorial Cricket Tourney

Ajay Sadhotra, Minister for Planning & Development, Labour & Employment executing a shot while inaugurating Cricket Tournament at Mandal in Jammu on Tuesday.
JAMMU, Jan 17: Minister for Planning & Development and Labour & Employment, Ajay Sadhotra inaugurated the 3rd Parmodh Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament in an impressive and well attended function at Playfield Mandal, near here today.
While the Minister was the chief guest on the function, Sarpanch Subhash Chander was the guest of honour. Chairman Atman College of Education, Sanjay Mahajan and Managing Director of Mint Leaf Restaurant were also present on the occasion.
In the inaugural match, Patel Club were 65/7 in 12 overs against Atman Club when rain stopped the play and forced the organizers to abandon the match. Arun was the top scorer with 16 runs, while Dhai contributed 13 runs to the total. For Atman Club, first-class cricketer Ramdayal, Vishwajeet Singh and Kamal Kishore scalped 2 wickets each, while Amrit Pal Singh claimed one wicket. Ramdayal was most economical of the lot who conceded just 4 runs in his 3 overs. The match will be played on any other day from the word go.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Sadhotra said that sports and allied activities help the youth not to derail from the main stream and avoid evils like drugs and alcohol. He stressed upon the youth to participate in the sports activities with enthusiasm, spirit and valour.
The match was officiated by Monu Sharma and Balbir Singh as umpires, while Sunny Sharma acted as a scorer. Organising secretary, GS Michael was commentator on the occasion.
