SAMBA, Sept 14: To help youth not to derail from mainstream and help them shun drugs and social abuses, ‘Young Athlete Club’ organized Cross Country Run for Vijaypur, here today.
The Run was organized by Anjali Choudhary who is organizing secretary of this club.
MLA Vijaypur Surjit Singh Slathia was the chief guest who flaged off this run for Vijaypur.
Around 150 boys and girls in the age group of Under-14 and Under-18 participated in which 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were awarded by chief guest.
Talking to media persons, Anjali Choudhary said that this is for the first time that the Championship is being held in Samba district.
The main objective of this programme was to strengthen the unity and aware the young generation about the use of drugs and abuses etc. Principal, Devanand, SHO Ajay Bandral, NC leader Om Parkash and Arti were also present on the occasion.
