RR organizes cricket tournament

UDHAMPUR, Oct 25: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga under the aegis of Rashtriya Rifles Uniform Force Headquarters, Reasi in coordination with Sungri Cricket Association organized a weeklong Ans Valley Cricket Tournament.
A total of 18 teams from the remote areas of the region participated in the tournament. The matches were played on knock out basis. The final match was held between Mahore and Bagga A, which was won by Bagga A team.
Prizes were awarded to the winners and runners-up teams in the presence of large number of spectators.
According to the organizers the tournament was organized with an aim to promote sports and spirit of sportsmanship among the youth of the remote areas.
The organizers further said that the event enhances relationship between Army and public in these remote areas.
The local populace appreciated the initiative undertaken by the Army.
