BHADERWAH, Aug 18: As a part of ongoing process of winning hearts and minds of the people especially youth, Rashtriya Rifles based at Bhaderwah organised 2-day Shaheed Naib Subedar Chunni Lal (Ashok Chakra (Posthumous), Vir Chakra and Sena Medal) Wrestling (Dangal) Competition, which was inaugurated here on today.
The Wrestling competition in which 50 wrestlers from different parts of country including Delhi, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, beside Jammu and Kashmir are participating is being held at Sports ground of Government Boys Higher Secondary Bhadarwah.
The event was inaugurated by Dr SS Balwal, Principal, Govt Degree College, Bhadarwah in the presence of Major Ambarish Mahanta, Second-in-Command, Major G Alagu Raju, Quartermaster, 4 Rashtriya Rifles, ASP Bhadarwah Rajinder Singh, CEO BDA Rajinder Singh Khajuria, civil administration, teachers, students, Ex-Servicemen and a number of local villagers.
On the occasion, 2IC RR stressed on the importance of sports activities in the life of a person especially youths.
The inaugural bout was played between wrestlers from Punjab Morad Ali and Wrestler Balka Singh.
