Jammu, Feb 1: Royal Legends Jammu lifted the 7th edition of the Chinar Premier League (CPL) trophy after defeating WCC Lolipora by nine runs in a closely contested final at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, today
Batting first after winning the toss, Royal Legends Jammu posted a competitive total of 133 runs.
Akash Choudhary led the scoring with 41 runs, while Jatin and Ram Dayal contributed 28 runs each. Yogesh chipped in with 19 runs.
For WCC Lolipora, Zeeshan Zahoor and Dar Junaid claimed two wickets apiece.
In reply, WCC Lolipora were restricted to 124 runs, falling short by nine runs.
Mujtaba Yousuf top-scored with 42, followed by Asif Rasool and Nadeem Dar with 19 runs each, while Zeeshan Zahoor added 18.
Ishu starred with the ball, picking up three wickets, while Anchal Singh took two.
Ishu was adjudged Man of the Match, while Adnan Malik of Dr. XI was named Player of the Tournament.
The tournament was organised by Mehboob ul Alam Sport and supported by AD Caps Anantnag.
With this victory, Royal Legends Jammu joined previous CPL champions Super Star Kakapora and WCC Lolipora.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman CPL and MACC Kashmir, Shabir Ahmad Shah, praised the organising team for successfully conducting the tournament in Jammu.
He lauded the coordination and efforts of the management team, including Chief Organiser Waseem Baba, Co-Organiser Zahid Farooq, and member and commentator Manzoor Ahmad, besides local umpires and ground staff of M.A. Stadium under the JK Sports Council.
Shah also expressed gratitude to the stadium management, team owners, sponsors, managers, physios, players, and cricket enthusiasts, both on the ground and on social media platforms.
The concluding ceremony was attended by chief guest Dolly Tiku Arwal, Member Sahati Academy, New Delhi, who highlighted the importance of promoting sports, especially cricket, among youth in J&K.
