DODA, May 29: Royal Cricket Club Haryana and Asraria Sports Club Kishtwar defeated their rivals to move into the next round of the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
In the first match, Royal Cricket Club Haryana outplayed Doda Warriors by 7 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Doda Warriors collapsed at 55 runs. Javed and Jonny made 10 runs each. For Royal Cricket Club Haryana, Rohit and Ramesh shared 3 wickets each.
In reply, Royal Cricket Club Haryana chased the target in 6.1 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Rahul made 20 runs, while Bharam Singh contributed 15 runs to the total. For Doda Warriors, Javed and Inam took one wicket each. Ramesh was declared as man of the match for his superb performance.
In another match, Asraria Sports Cricket Club Kishtwar defeated New Star Cricket Club Doda by 33 runs. Batting first, Asraria Sports Cricket Club scored 127 runs by losing 10 wickets in 20 overs. Jaspreet scored 25 runs while Shabir added 22 runs. For New Star Cricket Club Doda, Saddam and Izhar took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, New Star Cricket Club Doda bundled out for 93 runs in 16.3 overs, so Asraria Cricket Club Kishtwar won the match by 34 runs. For New Star Cricket Club Doda, Riyaz was the top scorer with 22 runs followed by Aamir Suhail who added 19 runs to the total. For Asraria Sports Cricket Club Kishtwar, Shabir Dar and Haroon took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Shabir Dar of Asraria Sports Cricket Club Kishtwar was declared as man of the match for splendid bowling show.
The award was presented to him by Mohd Saleem Ganai, Manager Bajaj Allianz Doda.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as umpires, while Rinku Bhadouriya acted as the scorer.
