Royal Challengers lifts Captain Atul Somra Cup

RAMBAN, Aug 31:  Royal Challengers Banihal lifted the prestigious Captain Atul Somra Cup by defeating Wajid Cricket Club Chareel by 15 runs and awarded with a cash prize of Rs 40000, by the Army at Lamber Ground Banihal, here today.
The Banihal Premier League-T20 Cricket Champio-nship commenced on August 20 and concluded today.
The tournament is named after an Indian Army hero Captain Atul Somra who made the supreme sacrifice in a counter-terrorist operation at Banihal. A total of 32 teams from the Ramban district participated in the tournament.
The final match of the tournament was graced by the Women Indian Cricket team player Jasia Akhtar, IPL player Manzoor Dar and SDM Banihal Zaheer Abass Bhat.
The tournament saw the participation of more than 400 youth of the region in the matches. The event was conducted in line with Khelo India Campaign and gave the youth a platform to showcase their talent.
