Roshan Lal Memorial Volleyball Tournament gets underway

Floral tributes being paid to Martyr Havaldar Roshan Lal on Saturday.

JAMMU, Feb 2: A Volleyball tournament being organised by the family of Martyr Havaldar Roshan Lal on his first Martyrdom Day got underway at Government High School Nichla, here.
The tournament was inaugurated by Personnel Officer to Director School Education Jammu, Rajeev Khajuria and Joint Director Udhampur-Reasi, Rimpy Ohri in the presence of Des Raj father of Martyr and Asha Devi wife of Martyr, besides Darshan Kumar, Murari Lal, Devi Ditta, Tej Ram, Vijyant Kumar Sanjeev Sunny, and other family members.
Roshan Lal sacrificed his life at Bhimbargali Rajouri last year on February 4.
On inaugural day, a total of 5 matches were played.
The inaugural match was played between Gurah Mundiyan and Kootah in which Kootah won by 2-0 sets; Dhanni outplayed Knah by 2-0 sets in second match;
Third match was won by Hiranagar Morh by defeating Bhakhta by 2-0 sets.
The tournament will continue till February 4, 2019.
The matches were officiated by Uttam Singh, Dharminder Singh, Ganesh Dass, Raj Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Raju, Narinder Kumar, Sohan Singh, Jagdish Chander and Sunil Kumar.
On the occasion, hundreds of people including Sarpanchs and Panchs of area paid tribute/homage to the Martyr.
