Road Safety XI drubs YCC by 5 wkts

JAMMU, Apr 27: Riding on brilliant 72 runs by Yasir Ali and superb 4-wicket haul by Rompy Sharma, Road Safety XI defeated YCC in an easy contest by 5 wickets in the ongoing 5th Jammu Tawi Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, YCC managed to score a modest total of 115 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Honey top scored with 36 runs, while Yawar and Mukul contributed 23 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Rompy Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief for Rod Safety XI, who took 4 important wickets, while Rajesh Gill and Balwan bagged 2 wickets respectively. Dinesh and RK Bhat claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Road Safety XI scored 19 runs in 15.5 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5wickets. Yasir Ali played a magnificent innings of 72 runs, while Rompy Sharma and Sunny Gill contributed 19 and 10 runs to the winning total. For YCC, Raghu, Mohit, Arun, Rohit and Mukul claimed 1 wicket each.
Yasir Ali was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh, Sandeep Manchanda and Shiv Kumar, while the Tournament is being organized by Shashi Paul, Organizing Secretary.
